Magazine party pre-reading night... in QX style

Me, Gisela, Mire and new friend
Wednesday I went to the pre-read of the Swedish Gay and Lesbian magazine QX. It was my friend Giselas birthday, and since we are both superbusy it was nice to spend some time with her.
I also had the pleasure to see a whole bunch of the other girls from the TV-show Flator that I'm in. Well, it's airing this spring, and I guess it will mean I become gaymous or something...

Well, it was nice and chatty and free drinks, that I only had very few of, since I have the important Sweden vs. Finalnd game this weekend... oh and looking at the pictures I get very pleased with my haircut (yeah, I know, I am shallow)

My friend Gisela is currently the vice-chair of the Swedish Youth LGBT organization, and i have so much respect for what she's doing. I really often think that I should and could do more. I guess being as involved as I am in rollerderby that is such a female empowering sport and very open to LGBT people is a step, but well, I don't think I'd have time for much more... sometimes it might be the thought that counts...

I'm getting shown  pictures. Matilda (the blonde) is also in Flator

Last night: Shopping for free!

AKA "Klädbytarkväll" (clothes exchanging night)... this was just sooo much fun! And it's so great for the environment, it saves you money and you totally update your wardrobe and your old clothes beome someones new cool clothes.

I think it's just a tad too small, I can't lift my arms
The concept is really easy and simple: Each person get to bring between one to ten items, clothes, shoes, acessories that they don't use anymore, but still think are great. I know we all have some items in our wardrobe that we really like, we just don't think it fit us, or something we bought on sale just to realize that it's just the wrong color. The clothes have to be clean and in nice condition, when you arrive to the "party" you put the clothes in a pile, and then it's just open for everyone to start looking through the things and grab whatever you think is amazing and cool...

Me, Amy and Kix being FAB
So I had about seven people turn up, and I think everyone left the switcheroo night feeling like they had something new, cool and fun with them. I got a awesome dress and sone shirts that will work amazing for work... and I had a great night with friends and we got to try all the clothes on...

We turned Kix into a VERY traditonal looking lesbian and then into a politican, and then we all decided we were Russian mailorder brides and I think we ended the dress-up with some Cabaret style clothes... I totally recommend doing this, it's environmental friendly, cheap, HILLERIOUS and you get to get rid of some clothes and gain some fun additons to your wardrobe!

CABAREEEEEET... if you only kneeew...

Night out with Fisti and hot laaadies...

I miss skating with Fisti soooo much,  but she is not only an AMAZING skater but a freakign funny and hillerious person, and we both share the attentionspan of a five year old, so we have about as much fun as five year olds in a playground together. Usually people don't give five year olds alcohol... but we just treat ourselves, because that is just the kind of people we are.
I had Kim, Only and Becky over for dinner - and right when we had finished dinner Amy came with Swedish cinnamon buns... the plan was to go to a bar and have a few after dinner. Since we aer not so much on point we left the house hours after we planned, but still found a great place to have drinks and Amy could sing along and dance to various music...

Today Fisti is running our practice, and that will be supernice, to have someone different, and that isn't me to run practice... yay... and Fisit really is one of my favorite skaters, so I am totally looking forward to it... LOVE rollerderby!

Fisti makes awesome rings, now we all have one!
Vampires and great drinks - night and alcohol
Amy is sharing her hair with Only
Fireball - a very stupid idea I totally blame on Kim
After dinner you instagram about it
Heading to Södermalm after dinner
Fisti and Kim are VERY goodlooking

Ah, I have a third derby wife!

Yes, this was very awkward...
Observe the fathers flowers in the mouth... and trannie mother
Ta daaaaa.... we are married after 2 years of engagement

May I present Smashed not Strrd! We had a lovley wedding during the Stockholm Rollerderby bonding weekend... Our priest Jazz Ass might have been very intoxicated and my derbyfathers Roffe and Krille almost missed the cermony due to unability to put clothes on... the father of the other bride Husse wore clothes worthy a trannie and the flowers were a doll, that Mad Maloony catched.... We did the plank and I picked Smashed up during the cermony and my bestman Kix bought me a stripper, who gave everyone lapdances with the snus almost falling out of her lip... sexy... So I have no doubt that this will go down in history as one of the better derbyweddings... The pictures are all taken by our lovley wedding photographer It's Aliva!

Oh, and as you can tell, we both wore lovley dresses in the colors of Stockholm Rollerderby... and we had the support of the majority of the current skaters of Stockholm Rollerderby... AMAZING!

And the wedding guests....

Back in Stockholm to party

Since we moved to Stockholm we've been out dancing and partying once, and since Loony really loves to dance, we decided we needed to do something about it.
So yesterday we had dinner at non-active derby players house - and then we went out to a girlparty. The dinner went in the colors of Mexico, and lots of Coronas with lime and salt was drank - and lots of very expensive but tasty Tequila was drank! It was awesome to see Hyper Nova again, she's not activley skating at the moment and I truly miss her...

The girlparty was fun, lots of derby girls, lots of our rookies came and at one point we had the stage crowded with Stockholm Roller Derby girls, and then we stayed there for the rest of the night. Good fun! I was wearing heals and the late night walk to the subway was a little in the painful side.... But as they say in Swedish "vill mam vara fin får man lida pin"

Sunday Scrimmage and Saturday toddler

Sometimes we get indoor practices - and then we scrimmage... so yesterday we had scrimmage... It was fun, but not as fun as usual. I guess you cannot always be 100%... it was a long weekend - and I also had to catch up on some work...

Tomorrow me an Loony are going to Åre to spend a few days skiing/snowboarding with my father and his new family. I'm really looking forward to that...

On Saturday it was Hell's birthday party and I dressed up, very fancy, I was wearing a dress and that is not the most common sight. But it was fun, and some people got really drunk and some less... and we had a danceparty in her tiny apartment... Good fun!  Now I'm off to present rollerderby to Stockholm City... yepp... very formal - I even made power point...

We might have watched too much Toddlers and Tiaras

My Birthday Party

So yes, I had one of those, ''a birthday party''... and it was really nice and I love the awesome mix of friends I have. I got awesome birthday presents - and we drank lots of wine - and a cake was made and it tasted aaaaamazing... yum yum....
And then we played 'truth or dare' until everyone either left or fallen asleep...

My Birthday (it is not today)

Since we don't really do Christmas gifts in the family, I always put all my hope to my Birthday... My Birthday is 10th of  January - so only a week away from today... and I am already hoping for the singing in the morning and marängtårta in bed.

This year I want a few things for my Birthday: I want snow, I want new iceskates (or possibly that the ones I have get sharpened) I want new plates for my rollerskates, I want a bike, I want a hairdyer, I want a fancy dinner, I want a massage, I want a new blazer from Tiger or Acne... and I want a couch from IKEA and a coffee table, I want a helmet cover to travel with and new clothes...  there are so many things I want...
But most of all I want great times with friends and little packages to open... I like little colorful things that I can put up everywhere in the apartment... I love pens... I love post-cards and rollerskate whatever... yeah... I want new roller-skates... who doesn't??

This year I'm having a little get-together under the theme ''Kalas'' I think I might just turn it into ''Traditional Lesbian'' the Friday after my birthday - last year we had a butch theme and it became very butch in our Copenhagen home...and that was HILLERIOUS and I made lentil soup and we had different little ''butch-offs''. Krazy Kris and Martattack from Copenhegen were there, Callavera and Smashed were visiting from Stockholm and Firebird, Ninja, Fisty, Fenix and Dusty came over from Malmö... Ninja turned into Roffe and made even Kris act and look like a little girl... Ahhh, I love parties with themes...

How I love off-skate work-outs....

I love bootcamps that has off-skates
So I was one of those girls that started derby because I thought it looked kool, I probably just wanted to go out and hit some girls, or hit on them, I probably liked the thought that the other girls were going to wear short skirts...
Honestly, there could be tons of more to this story, but I don't think I put that much thought into why I wanted to do derby, except from that I had just discovered that I thought roller-skating was fab and I was really looking for something to do except spending my money at the Wild Rose  or some queer club, being terrible at talking to chicks I thought were hot, and have crushes on my friends and getting my heart broken and mending it by tequila and jumping into bushes... (there were some really good times in there too) I also had the very attractive habit of chain-smoking...

Well, long story short, I found derby and I loved it, I skated, skated and skated some more, I learned to jam, I learned to hit and got used to get hit. I got more fit than my sorry smoking ass had been in ages, I quit smoking and actually became good, no I became a GREAT derby player. I started to add extra skating sessions, I skated around Green Lake and I went to speedskating classes - I was having a grand ol' time learning to skate and playing derby. At some point I felt like I hit a wall, it was like it was telling me ''here but not further''  and I just could not figure out what I was missing.... It wasn't until I transfered to Gotham, I found that last little thing that was so easy to add in - but that just had not caught up to my brain yet... OFF-SKATE!  Off-skate made it possible to take my derby to a new level. I became stronger, felt better about myself and most of all - I became a better derby-skater!

It made me remember back in the days when I was a competative snowboarder - when I would get up before the sun rose (I lived in Tärnaby, yeah, not the sun not rising doesn't really mean that much that far North) to go for a jog before we would head down to class. We would do both strenght, agility, endurance and plyos several times a week, and I remember being sore - but also having one of the best seasons of my life, and with the least injuries too...

Off-skate practice is crucial to make you a better derby-player, it is not everything, but I promise, adding off-skate into your weekly practice scedual is gonna make your team so much better... and you know what? Just half an hour twice a week makes a big difference... Yeah - I know I am crazy...

OFF-SKATE is FUN!! Mostly because it makes me a kick-ass derby player my team can relay on but also because I can impress impressive people like Krissy Krash, Beater and Mad Maloony... yeah... that too... muuuscles... muscles... he he he he (btw Mad Maloony claims she is impressed by me - mission completed)

Barfight and Packmans party

Me, Fenix, Muffa, Smacky and EvilEye defining the pack...
After three hours of practice we went to Barfight and Packmans house (in the middle of fields about 30 min outside Malmö) to enjoy an amazing get together with lots of Crime City girls and food (me and Loony made a yummy french vegan potatoe salad)... we all brought something and then we just munched away... and guess what... it tasted amazing and we had a great time! Well, we might have gotten a little tired at times, and some of us took a pack-nap... PACK IS HERE!!
