Recap of the past month... sort of...

I am sorry friends, family and others that happen to read my blog, I've really been lacking in writing and skating, dating, writing, thinking and working out. I just have not had time to reflect about anything but the current "right now" state of union.

I downloaded Tinder for a day, turned it into a real life game and met a person that made my heart skip and jump a beat. It's sort of magical and amazing.

I also practices, practiced, practices and went to WFTDA Champs and got to be a part of the team that once again brought the Hydra home. It was beyond an amazing weekend, the level of play was just AMAZING, the athletic aspect of rollerderby is just raising each year and it makes me proud and excited to be a part of the community. I also got to see lots of friends from allover the world, Mainey,Eagle, Rotten, Krissy Krash, Demanda, Mad Dog, Kasey Bomber, Nasty Trick and tons of more... Its just amazing to be a part of a rollerderby and all the great people and friends I have made.

I went back to NYC and spent even more time with this amazing person, just to realise that sometimes you just ought to follow your heart whatever other people say. So I am. I ended up NSOing a scrimmage in Philly, since I went down with Kenbo, Frozen and Carnage, my first time NSOing. I've done almost everything in derby, and now I can add NSOing to the list of things that I have done.

Kenbo, Carnage, me and Frozen on ourway to Philly

And then I went to Sweden to work and attend WET, an European WFTDA tournament in my old hood, Crime City was hosting. I was amazined over how great all the teams did. I was happy to have OMG representing Brooklyn Skates at the tournament. I just got new skates, and I played a bout in them the second time I wore them. Oh, yeah, that happened at WET, a European mixed team called EuroTräsh played Team Finland. It was SO MUCH FUN. OH, and Stockholm did fantastic, I am so happy and proud of them. They showed that they are much better than their ranking indicated. Stockholm will always have a special place in my heart!

Oona, me and Fluke at WET

So, as you can tell I've been really busy and now I'm back in Stockholm again, but heading to Florida and StateWars tomorrow. Another adventure and I get to see some of my best friends and also finally get to rest in the arms of somone special.

Going to WET 2014

Today I travel to Copenhagen to hang out with OMG and Krazy Kris for a night before the WET tournament begins. 10 European teams of great caliber face off during three days in Malmö, my old hometown. I am looking forward to see this, I am looking forward to be a part of this.

I am  part of an European Allstar team that is going to bout against Team Finland on Sunday and on Saturday, Team Sweden has practice, at 07.30 AM... I am looking forward to both occations.

I miss NYC, especially a certain person that I grown very fond of, a person that makes my heart skip and jump, but I m also happy to be back in Sweden where it all began four years ago. Sometimes it's hard to feel so torn between two different places.

Stockholm rollerderby vs. Crime City Rollers: PART 3

Our Fresh Meat came and cheered us on!

Third time is a charm, whatever that is supposed to mean, this is called part three, since it's the third time Stockholm and Crime City play each other.....
So the first full WFTDA sanctioned bout in Sweden happened yesterday. Stockholm and Crime City have done lots of firsts, and it's about two years since we played the first bout in Sweden... In Malmö - and at that time me, Loony and Firebird all played with Crime City, and now we play with Stockholm, both amazing teams, and I'm so happy to be a part of Swedish rollerderby!

I been sort of not into derby lately, I've acctually honestly thought about retirement, I've just felt like I don't have it in me. But after this weekend I do feel much more positive and I remembered why I love rollerderby... I still have decided to re-prioritise some things... Life will rule rollerderby and not the other way around! Yesterdays game was fun, I wasn't prepared for it to be as much fin as it was and our off-skate is freaking HILLERIOUS, we all do the off-skate and then randomly starting to sing "My Girl" and half of the team don't really know the lysrics, but we fake it really well...

This is how much fun it is to talk about line-ups before the game...
We won yesterday, and the game was a nailbiter, it was our first game with the new rules, and we had one player foul out, in the last 10 min, I guess it could have been worse. We are still playing rollerderby, and as long as we keep it legal, the changes aren't that crazy different... Oh, and I got MVP and it really meant a lot to me, thank you CCR, and thank you STRD for helping me pushing myself and being a part of something that is amazing, and sorry I've been pissy and difficult lately...

I also wanna give out Fresh Meat an extra shoot-out for coming down and cheering us on, we needed that extra love!

I love rollerderby Sweden, you guys are awesome, I love the hard work we put in together! Amazing!!

My really cute MVP award!
And I do admit I love my A-team a tad extra, what is there not to love after seeing them sing karoke or dance at the stage in sports bras? Seriously! I must say I miss Husse, with her in the crew we knew we would win the afterparty, she's an animal... (and she was good to have on the track too)

Lets continue work hard and have those stupid laughs together..: and the drive to play great and amazing derby (and it feels good when we win too)

Karoke afterparty... and seriously... me and Becky do NOT sing... Amy is the star!

Stockholm vs. Malmö

We won.... The Final Score was STRD 169 – CCR 122
I am very proud of my team - they played very well. After a rocky start we regained our feet under us and started to chip away on the lead that CCR earned. I don't think I have never been so nervous EVER playing a bout, it is really weird to play a team that you feel you aer such a big part of.
I loved Crime City - but Stockholm is "mina drömmars stad" and even when I hate it the most - I love it even more.
AND WE SOLD OUT - over 700 tickets! Yaya! That was REALLY exciting! I'm so excited we had such a fab audience cheering both for us and for Crime City! It was truly lovly and made me hopeful for the future of Swedish Rollerderby!

It is really exciting that Sweden has not only one but two teams that are going to the AP/WFTDA tournament in Berlin, and that we both are really able and work so hard to improve our derby, fitness and awareness.

The bout Saturday was our second sanctioned bout, and we are really hoping to soon become full WFTDA members, there are so many exciting things ahead of us - I love rollerderby - I really do - this is what I do to put a smile on my face. And I know that I at times go close to teh fire and almost burn out, but for most of the times, it's worth it in the end...

TOMORROW! WE ARE PLAYING IN STOCKHOLM!

Well, to be honest, we are playing in Solna Hallen - but how cool is that!? It's gonna be frealing fantastic! Swedens two best teams are going head to toe in a great game... and I have very deep ties and connections to both teams!

If you are in Stockholm, you really should come and watch it! It will be a BLAST! Don't miss out! Just COME!! Game will START at 17.00!

You can still get your tickets online OR just buy them at the door! This will be KICK ASS

Going South for the weekend

So this weekend I decided to go to Malmö and pay my old leauge a visit, and it was a good trip. They had an intraleauge bout: Lammkött vs. Pantertanter (Lambmeat vs. Golden Girls) So if you were 29 or over you were deemed to be a Pantertant and  if you were younger you were a Lambmeat.
The bout was very close and it made it quite exciting to watch, Team Sweden skaters Evil Eye, Ninja and Ankefar were Oldies while Curly, Alotta and Fenix were all Lambchops... yum yum...  I know I have said this before, but I probably will again, and again... I am so proud and wexcited about how far Swedish rollerderby have gotten, how much we are pushing ourselves, how hard we all work to make it better. I am proud of each and everyone that are involved in derby!
I sat next to Fluke and we had smuggled a beer in, so we could drink and watch a bout... I can't even remember last time I just went and watched a bout without NO responsibility surrounding the event. It was quite AMAZING!

Objects might apper closer, it still is almost 6 ours between Malmö and Stockholm

When it gets wet - derby still goes on...

So one of the bouts got cut a little short because of a sudden and intense rain - but that did not stop the DJ's from continuing to play - not did it stop us from dancing. When dancing became a little less exxiting we returned to the track... off-skate but still blocking and playing the game... it lasted for a jam... we might have been six black and two white people on the track... and it was a little confusing to determine the jammer...

Really - slippery when wet!

And then we danced some more - until we had a need for dry clothes and then we watched derby baby and went to Jalla Jalla and had the best falafel in Crime City! I love Malmö, I really do - but I love Stockholm just a little more!

Derbyfestival in Malmö

This weekend was so full of things that I don't even know where to begin, not at all... we fun we had sun, and rain, and skated, and skated, and ate too little, got weird tans, wore to big bout shirts and to small hotpants. I got kissed and sun kissed and I smiled, a lot!

Vagine Regime Nordic played our first bout against Crime City Rollers A-team and the Swedish Meatwalls won against all the other contries until yesterday in the final - when we ended up with a draw against the Finns... 92 - 92

It was a really amazing weekend with dancing in the rain, hanging out with amazing people and lots and lots of skating... and I can't complain about getting to bout too much - even if I now (and yesterday) suffer from a real bad cold and some bruises...

Thanks to everyone that made this happen, I know it was really hard work!

Dancing in the rain

Spending the weekend in Malmö at an amazing derby festival!

Sometimes I forget why I love derby so much - and today made me remember!

Our bout was cut short because of rain, and instead of crying we ended up having a danceparty in the rain!

I probably will be sick tomorrow and regret bouncing up and down for 1 hour in the rain... But it was worth it.. The sun was shining and the rain poring down, the music poring and a bunch of awesome girls dancing and life just felt quite perfect...

Non-broken toes and long walks

I found a Hello Kitty soda... it tasted YUCKY and waaay to sweet
So yesterday I was SURE my toe was broken - but after som intense arnica and painkiller treatment the swelling had gone down - the discoloration was still massive, but I decided it was not broken and I will be able to skate with it in two days... pehww...  I even went for a long walk into the ''city center'' of Malmö, the first 20 minutes were really painful and I wanted to cry, but after a while it seemed like the toe warmed up to the thought of walking.

We strolled into a couple of stores, because we were getting haircolor for Loony, she was going INTENSLY ginger... I like strolling into clothing stores - cheking out what's cool and swhat's on sale - and in one of the stores I found this AMAZING leathr jacket! i just WANTED it, it was everything I ever wanted in a jacket! I looked at the pricetag 1600 swedish kronor (that is about 242 US dollar) and choked - I could NOT afford that.. and then I looked up - I was by the sales rack, and everything was 70%... may I tell you all that I now FINALLY have the leather jacket of my dreams, I now look very dyke and no longer have to steal Loonys jacket to wear a jacket. I am very pleased, I think this was a very sucessful day!
Ninja looking for Twinkie
And then we met up with Ninja and her dog Twinkie outside the store - we went and sat in the fall sun until we got cold and Ninja almost lost her dog in the flowerbed. (it was quite hillerious to watch her look for Twinkie among the flowers... )

And then Loony bleached all her hair to put bright orange haircolor in it, and I got so inspired I put a bright yellow stripe in my hair... Guess I am really representing CCR on Saturday in our bout we play against Berlin. Crime Citys last homebout of the season!

Mini-meltdown over everything

I don't really have much against having lots of things to do, but right now, I'm once again just a little on the verge...
Today we had a 3 hour practice, 1 hour of drills, 1 hour scrimmage, and 1 hour of skills where we skated backward and other fun stuff that we don't practice often enough... and then a few of us went into the sauna and drank tons of water.

Right now Loony are printing T-shirts for our B-team that are bouting STRD's rookie team next Saturday, and I'm trying to sort five things out at the same time. I think I need a secretary... It's really interesting how people just tell you ''I am really sorry, but I just don't have the time right now'' but then expect things to just happen... Yeah... things just appear out of freaking nothing...  Yeah, I am feeling a little whiny right now - I have a headache and I think the cold that everyone seem to suffer from currently is attacking me.

I HATE living in this crappy small appartment, we event had to make toast today in a freaking pot, since we don't own a proper pan, and I can't walk anywhere in the apartment without falling over something, because there is barley room for one preson. AhhhhhhhAHHHHhhhHHAHHHHh

And I don NOT have time to get sick - curse all!

Night Skate Malmö

Picture stolen from the newspaper Metro
Last night Malmö had the first ever Night Skate, and it was awesome, Crime City was one of the organizers behind it and about 150 people turned up to be a part of it, all with skates on their feet. We rolled on the streets and just enjoyed the for once great weather and sunset... it was a great time and it will happen again on the 23rd of September. The route was around 15km, so it was a good amount of rolling and there were lots of people of all ages on inlines and quad-rollerskates.... It was great, I got to see lots of Crime City girls that haven't been around practice in a while, and it made me happy to see them.

So stress is getting the best out of me

I started crying today during practice... and on top of that we just found out that the landlord wants to throw us out... yeah... I know... totally crazy...  as if I was not stressed out enough.... feeling GREAT!

Playing on skates and all that

And SMILE...

Sign says 'no adults can ride with'

Breaking the law... breaking the law

Looking for more trouble...
Me and Loony went for falafel at Jalla Jalla, best falafel with haloumi i Malmö, so freaking amazing... and then we went and dropped of a whole bunch of socks at Vix, that now are up on SwedeVix webshop... and then we just went out and skated around and played around on skates. Loony tried to teach me some artistic rollerskating (she's been the Danish Champion), I fled into a small closed amusement park...
