Recap of the past month... sort of...

I am sorry friends, family and others that happen to read my blog, I've really been lacking in writing and skating, dating, writing, thinking and working out. I just have not had time to reflect about anything but the current "right now" state of union.

I downloaded Tinder for a day, turned it into a real life game and met a person that made my heart skip and jump a beat. It's sort of magical and amazing.

I also practices, practiced, practices and went to WFTDA Champs and got to be a part of the team that once again brought the Hydra home. It was beyond an amazing weekend, the level of play was just AMAZING, the athletic aspect of rollerderby is just raising each year and it makes me proud and excited to be a part of the community. I also got to see lots of friends from allover the world, Mainey,Eagle, Rotten, Krissy Krash, Demanda, Mad Dog, Kasey Bomber, Nasty Trick and tons of more... Its just amazing to be a part of a rollerderby and all the great people and friends I have made.

I went back to NYC and spent even more time with this amazing person, just to realise that sometimes you just ought to follow your heart whatever other people say. So I am. I ended up NSOing a scrimmage in Philly, since I went down with Kenbo, Frozen and Carnage, my first time NSOing. I've done almost everything in derby, and now I can add NSOing to the list of things that I have done.

Kenbo, Carnage, me and Frozen on ourway to Philly

And then I went to Sweden to work and attend WET, an European WFTDA tournament in my old hood, Crime City was hosting. I was amazined over how great all the teams did. I was happy to have OMG representing Brooklyn Skates at the tournament. I just got new skates, and I played a bout in them the second time I wore them. Oh, yeah, that happened at WET, a European mixed team called EuroTräsh played Team Finland. It was SO MUCH FUN. OH, and Stockholm did fantastic, I am so happy and proud of them. They showed that they are much better than their ranking indicated. Stockholm will always have a special place in my heart!

Oona, me and Fluke at WET

So, as you can tell I've been really busy and now I'm back in Stockholm again, but heading to Florida and StateWars tomorrow. Another adventure and I get to see some of my best friends and also finally get to rest in the arms of somone special.

EROC day ONE

Me and Titty on our way to breakfast... it's dark outside and it's Saturday...

I love how EROC evolve each year... I am very happy to be a part of the ever growing European rollerderby scene. I am not sure how excited I am about getting up at 07.00 my days off work...

I came to represent Stockholm together with our new Chairperson/Leauge President Reddie and our most experienced referee Fluke, both are two people I respect and enjoy spending time with.

First day was getting up early and hurry to the breakfast, say hello to a bunch of people that I like to call my friends (that would be the people I hadn't seen the night before at the welcoming party). It's always nice to see how many we are that show up to shape the future of European Rollerderby...

Say HELLO to Chairman Red... (I wanna star calling her Mao for no reason at all)
The conference started with leagues being grouped together. According to when they were founded : veteran, intermediate and veteran. Since Stockholm was founded in 2007 we ended up in the veteran group, the discussion pretty much followed the theme of what EROC 2013 would be about - WFTDA membership, national organizations, growing and merby.

After that I spent a little time listening to the Social Network System that sponsor Berlin and how they structure their communication. It was quite interesting, but not really sure if Stockholm need another forum...

Bloody Mary doing simple math so we all can understand what she's talking about...
Bloody Mary held a WFTDA talk with member leagues and AP leagues, as usual it's interesting to hear what Bloody has to say since she's going in on her 11th season as a player and have worked with WFTDA since 2009.
Paying attention...
In the end of the day I was starving and headed for dinner with Red and a bunch of mostly officials (I don't know how this happens all the time) and had AMAZING Pho! Best Pho since I left Seattle!

When finished with food I went over to Master Blasters store Quad and hung out , Stefanie Mainey was fitting people with atoms new boots, I tried them on and they were surprisingly comfortable. And then I went out for a bite with KidBlock and Mainey, before I headed home to Titty and Anna

Fluke is happy to be our reff
Loony loves the last practice of the year
I look silly as always

Siiinging and becoming a My Little Pony

So I have a great friend, his name is Andreas (Fluke), he can sing, I also have a great friend called Janica (Only), and she can REALLY sing, and so can Firebird and Linda too... and I can't... People really think I am kidding when I say I can't sing! But I am not! I really cannot sing, I am a complete disaster, but that doesn't mean I do not sing, I still sing. I think taht people were wishing I spared them from my amazing non-tradional versions of songs I used to love when I was younger...I have been butchering any song you love since karoke came my way...

So we got together and sang SingStar at Andreas place, well, they sang and I mumbled into the microphone, and then acted as the announcer in between songs. It was delightful... If you ever seen "My best friends wedding" I am just a tad WORSE than Cameron Diaz is in that movie... and this is not me trying to make anyone say "noooo, you are great" because I am very VERY aware that sining is NOT my talent... My friend Husse loves to point out how bad I am, just ask her! She will tell you!

I love how I just spent an entire blog talking about how bad I am at sining, but I really am! I am very ok with it, and I had a FANTASTIC night, and as soon as Andreas get som more Johnny Cash songs on Singstar - I will kick all of your asses (or not)

Oh, and before that I went and had Lady Lovely Blocks (Anna) at Extend cut my hair and put some lovley extenstions in my hair... I feel like a My Little Pony... there is something about this time of the year, I easily feel down, like I am falling head first into a very dark hole. So I figured that some pastel hair extensions could make me smile... I am smiling... so I guess it sort of worked. I AM NOW AN UNICORN!

I even got away with it at work... yay... I am an accounting Unicorn
I am a sexitary and Only is only her...
And tehn it was time for VERY competative duettes!

On our way back to Sweden

The bout yesterday was great - but more about that later. We are now driving back to Turku to take the boat back to Sweden. We decided on a spontaneous mushroom picking stop - and it resulted in wet feet and some chanterelles! I was super excited to run around in the woods, I love nature, I just don't get to spend enough time in it. I often get trapped in the city - in the concrete of the city - and this lifted my spirit and made me just laugh to myself. Good thing I bought two pair of shoes at the flea market yesterday... When we get to Turku and the boat I will have dry shoes!

This could be a "funny mushroom" Glenn is the expert!
Kantarelli - I have an eye for those
Trolskt is all I can say!

Bout in Copenhagen

Beers in the line to the bout with STRD - they have gotten GANGJACKETS!! - (Smashed, CallaVera, Husse me and HyperNova)

So yesterday was the first bout ever in Denmark, GoGo Gent vs. Copenhagen... Copenhagen is Loony old league so of course we went over to support them, but also because we love to watch derby and I was really curious to see what the level on Gent was on. Copenhagen got beat with over 200 points a couple of weeks ago by Royal Windsor but I heard the loss was not because of the lack of skating ability, but major penalty trouble. I also knew that GoGo Gent lost to Berlin a few weeks ago, so I really did not know what to expect. So we put on out best outfits and grabbed our skates to go over the looong bridge to Copenhagen.
It seemed like Copenhagen really worked on their penaltys, while it was GoGo Gent who kept on going to the box. Both teams put up a good game, but it was finally that Copenhagen had two outstanding jammers that made them seal the deal and claim the win.

I got lured into drinking neon yellow shots at some bar - and after that it was all downhill. I think dying your hair with the same sort of color as you did when you where in middle school - probably makes you drink like a 14-year old too... yeah... Apperently I put Husse on a train back to Stockholm and took a bus to another island, when I was trying to go back to Krazy Kris house...

Me and Kris, me wearing Vix shirt for unknown reason
In the morning Kris and Loony baked bread and then Hyper and Fluke came by and we all went on a 15km skate and I kid you not, I think I was still drunk (don't try this at home kids)... But it was awesome as ever to go outdoorskating out by the sea in the springsun that is slowly turning into summer... I will have a tan in no time if this keep up! And after our 15 km skate (was crazy, they took a road with COBBLESTONE) we met up with CallaVera and Smashed and had sushi...
